THE INSTALLATION

P R O C E S S

1. Surface Preparation

  • Grinding: Thoroughly grind the concrete floor to achieve a flat surface.

  • Cleaning: Vacuum meticulously to remove all dust and debris.

  • Crack & Hole Filling: Use products like Gorilla Crack Paste to fill and smooth out any imperfections.

2. Priming

  • Step 1: Apply a moisture vapor barrier or primer using a 12-15 mil notched squeegee.

  • Step 2: Apply a second primer or base coat with a 2-3 mil notched squeegee.

  • Pinholes: Inspect the surface for any remaining pinholes and fill them using Gorilla Crack Paste for a flawless finish.

3. Base Coat Application

  • Selection: Choose a 100% solids epoxy base coat that matches the Terrazzino color system.

  • Application: Use the corresponding notched squeegee to apply the base coat at 80-100 sq. ft. per gallon.

4. Terrazzino Epoxy Application

  • Sanding: Lightly sand the base coat with 60-80 grit sandpaper.

  • Cleaning: Vacuum and wipe the surface with a microfiber cloth.

  • Pinhole Inspection: Check for any remaining pinholes and fill them as needed.

  • Application: Apply Terrazzino using a 1/2" notched squeegee, then roll with an 18" loop roller.

5. Top Coat Options

  • High Solids Urethane: Provides a scratch-resistant finish. Sand the Terrazzino surface with a 100-200 grit screen before application.

  • Water-Based Polyurethane: Available in high gloss and satin finishes. Apply using a 2-3 mil notched squeegee.

  • Terrazzino Cera: A polymer coating that offers a high-gloss, glass-like finish with improved slip resistance. Ideal for high-traffic areas.
